and good reeds and mouthpiece and tunups etc.... the list goes on and on, basically the factors are the phisical clarinet/reed, your ambiture (the position your mouth and chin muscles are) and air flow. you need to practise and ask your band direcotr or a friend how to use those to get a good sound

It's all about adjusting and readjusting your embouchure. Listen to recordings of many different professional clarinetists to get a feel for what sort of sound you're looking for. Practicing daily helps. You can't get a good sound overnight... but if you ever get what I call a "nice tone day", then practice until you're about to explode. Memorize exactly what you're doing, and compare it to an average day. Remember what you did differently, and soon the "nice tone day" sound will become an "average tone day" sound.
