I know from my amatuer/semi-pro activities, transporting multiple woodwinds can be a hassle. BUT... how do the pros do it? My curiousity is more aimed at Broadway pit pros. And perhaps John Moses will reply to this, or others. Do you have a secure locker that you keep them in when you are going to be at the theater 6 days a week OR...as you may have studio calls and other engagements, do you transport them on a daily basis?

When I've done major shows, a locker in the band's room is provided.
I subbed on Producers in Toronto, and the locker was large enough to accomodate the principal player's bari/bsn/contra/Bb as well as my own horns.
When I play shows without provided storage - generally short runs, I leave my stands set up, but carry out my instruments.

commonsense, but not terribly elegant!
Most of the guys I know who play Broadway do indeed have locker privileges; guys who sub will often use the regular guy's instruments that are stored @ the theatre (with their permission of course).
It goes without saying that theatre backstage security is pretty good.
