Incredible place for oboe study and research !

Note the double adjustment screw on the C key linking it to the inner ring of the split-ring mechanism. Closing the C key while fingering high-D (as usual) simultaneously closes the inner ring, enabling a smoother upward slur. Oboists without this key can simulate its action by adding the left-hand E key to the uusal high-D fingering. The Philadelphia high-D key can be added to an oboe by a reputable oboe technician.
i remember someone asking a question long ago on the high c to d slur.
i guess there was an easier method of promoting a smoother slur afterall!
