Since you're in Michigan try emailing Nancy Ambrose King and see if she can recommend anyone in the area:

These are a couple Southern California oboe repair specialists that professionals send their oboes to:
Michele Forrest
http://www.oboefix.com/
RDG Woodwinds / John Peterson
http://www.rdgwoodwinds.com/contact_us.php
Since your oboe came from the RDG shop, I would think that John Peterson would work on it. He's a repair person that may not touch less-than professional instruments, unless they came from RDG. He would refuse to do less than an overhaul if an overhaul is what he deems should be done.
Michele Forrest will work on anything (reliable) and if you don't think you need an overhaul she may take a look at it and quote you the minimum to get it into good playing condition. She got an old Loree of mine into amazing playing condition at a shockingly lower than expected price since she didn't think I needed an overhaul at all.

Stephen (Piko)
