 Reeds and recording.....
Author: RobinDesHautbois

So I finally blogged about the different reeds I had tried for Vicky's distribution out in Hong-Kong: she sells reeds made in different European and Asian countries, as well as from the USA.

I think the most important lesson I learned is to beware recordings! When people say "function first", it does not mean neglect sound quality, it means that the tiniest bit of tone colour you might be sacrificing comfort for will be completely lost when playing in different halls or making an audition recording.

=> Also, even people like myself who have been making reeds for 30 years can benefit from sampling reeds made by professionals in different countries: it helps open possibilities.
