A looooonnnnnnng time ago, oboes and some other musical instruments were exempt of duty, but that has changed. Contact border services Canada and do your best.... Expect delays and confusion: when I had them fill out a certificate of Canadian origin, they described my Lorée as "clarinette (hautbois)"!
