When I first started playing oboe, it was on a Cabart and then I was "promoted" to a Rigoutat. It was only when I got a Loree and not a very good one, at that, that I felt that I was able to start developing. Then, after getting a really good Loree, I felt I could really start developing! My teacher said more than once, that you have to make reeds for the instrument you're playing or even just evaluating, in order to get the true picture. Unless your Loree is extremely dark, you should be able to get a brighter sound by reed adjustment. Regards.
