Yes, I have one of those Moennig metal oboes with the automatic octave system. I've overhaulled it but still prefer to play on a Loree, as I haven't spent any serious time using it or making reeds for it. It was $25 in about 1978, mounted in a picture frame from a clarinet player named C. Lobb. He had bought it at the old Lockies Selmer dealer on south Broadway Blvd. in Los Angeles as a decorative item, I believe. Lockies also had a Hollywood store with large posters of local Selmer users, including some of my teachers.

Perhaps it was an attempt to avoid cracked wooden oboes, but ebonite was also available.
