Dear mschmidt,
Very interesting! I visited Ledet's studio at the U. of I. while he was working on the original section in the Summy-Birchard book. I asked to see Ray Still's reeds and they did appear to be really well made. (Clue!) Not too long thereafter, I found out why!
I was glad to see that, along with the others, including Ray, that Ronald Roseman was included in the group. I heard him give a premiere of a difficult, new work by a young French composer (George Gee?) at Aspen in the mid 70's and he acquited himself, very well.
