I've used the Bam Trekking double case for about 2-3 months now. I'm quite pleased with it. It fits the instruments and 2 bocals very well, has two comfortable handles to choose from (long side and short side), with two different carrying strap options and very good zipper closures. It's really not all that heavy and has a decent amount of room in two separate storage compartments. A bit more convenient than the conventional clamshell double case/case cover that I upgraded from. My perception of the BAM light hard shell case was the same as yours. Good luck with your decision.
