Hello! I have my father's old Penzel-Mueller Artist clarinet Serial Number 17487 (although the one looks a little funky). I had it restored professionally about 5 years ago by a gentleman who does museum restorations. He suggested that I use a red leather for the pads to be period correct but I went with a white pad instead. At the time, he said that this model in this condition is worth about $1300.00. I have the original case and had the interior felt replaced.
Anyone know about this model or when it was made? My Dad said he played it in his teens and he got it used but had no idea how old it was when he got it. My dad was born in 1927 so he was playing this in the early to mid 40's. He has since passed so that is all the information I have at the moment.
If anyone knows anything about this I would appreciate the information.
Thank you!

My Penzel-Mueller has a serial number of M4450 B. But like your 1, the M seems funky. Could be a 7? A 1? Anyone out there an expert on P.M. serial #s?
