Looking for suggestions for instrument related things to do in Madrid.
Other than maybe buying reeds, not interested in stores or trying instruments/mouthpieces.
Looking for places to check concerts (any type... classical, jazz, underground improvised avantgarde), obscure (or less obscure) instrument makers, anything like that. Doesn't have to be clarinets but obviously it's a bonus...
Thanks

We enjoyed Shostakovitch's Nose at Teatro Real- both my wife and I had a blast there.
The National Music Auditorium located at PrÃncipe de Vergara 146 is a very nice venue, with good acoustics. We had seats on the balcony and could see and hear everything so well!
The National symphony and National Choir presented baroque music for that concert. Both the orchestra and the choir performed at the highest level. There were no clarinets but the oboe and bassoon played 1st class, as well as the string section.
I can also highly recommend the Musical Perales shop that sells clarinets (and also bassoons I think).
The owner is a very pleasant, highly professional individual.
I bought a new Bb RC Prestige there, was able to choose from 4 different instruments. With VAT reduction and price difference (I am in the US), the savings were substantial. I would never be able to buy the same instrument in the US for its current price. If interested, contact him by e-mail prior to going to Madrid (at least that's how I did it).
Also, I would recommend to visit Toledo if you have time (one hour from Madrid by train).
