Hi folks, a few days ago I purchased a used Buffet B12 clarinet online from a bidding website. It arrived in fairly good shape and I was happy for the most part except for one little detail: one ring key had worn off nickel plating (see images).
So I got to work figuring out how to address it.
Most practical solution I came to was DIY nickel plating which is a fairly straight forward process. I purchased a Nickel rod online and followed the procedure. The results came out fantastic! See before and after pictures attached.

Well, I'm impressed. It looks great. I have a ring just like that - the plating is gone and it has turned reddish.

Bathed it in Nickel plating solution that I had made prior. The key has to be clean of all dirt and grime so I used acetone to remove all oils beforehand.
