Thank you for the link. It's great to see musicians enjoying themselves like that.
At 5:30 minutes, the trumpet player does something to briefly change his tone that I've never seen before. I wondered if anyone knew what that was?

It's a half-valve technique Hans - quite a common technique in jazz. There's an explanation here:

Those Emmet Cohen videos are incredible. The range of artists, styles and variety is astounding. Those guys are amazing musicians with a real chameleon like ability to play anything and make is sound fresh and new
