I am going to try an Bb RC Prestige in a couple of weeks.
Its serial number starts from "F". According to my internet searches, if the number belonged to an R13, it means the tuning is to 442-444 Hz.
Is this also the case with the RC Prestige Bb clarinets?
My RC A clarinet's serial number does not start from "F", even though I bought it from a european seller.
Thank you

Yes, the RC Prestige with "F" is a=442 Hz, without "F" a=440. At least as far as I know. And my own Prestige's have an "F" and are a=442 (and a=443 is also no problem).

Hi Gatto,
Thanks for replying to me.
In your experience, how much does the barrel needs to be pulled out to tune to 440?
Thank you

Hi m,

I myself find it more or less impossible to tune to a=440. Firstly, the barrel is 1mm shorter, and secondly, I use the standard non-13 Vandoren mouthpieces. Thirdly, the design of the BC1106 vs. BC1107 seems to be slightly different (but who knows?).
