Hello Clarinet Fans,
Just thought I'd mention that I heard the Jacquin Trio on Saturday (15th October) and I thought they were great. I can quite see why they won the ensemble prize at this year's Royal Overseas League Competition.
The clarinet is Jessie Grimes who I enjoyed very much - great sound and enormous musicality. She is a former Timothy Lines/Richard Hosford student who now teaches at the Royal College Junior Department and was off to play for Wexford Festival Opera the following day.
Viola player Kay Stephens had, I thought, the richest, fullest tone I'd heard from at viola in a long time and the pianist, Charis Hanning, was both sparkling and sensitive.
Here is their website. www.jacquintrio.com
Vanessa.
