 Reeds for Ridenour RA MT-36

Hi, I have a RA MT-36 on the way. I've never tried this mouthpiece, but if any of you have used it in the past or are currently using it, what size of reed would be a good bet to buy a box of in anticipation?

My best guess is somewhere in-between a V12 3.5+ and a 4. For comparison I am coming from a Vandoren M15 using 3.5 and 3.5+ reeds.

Hi,

I've used reeds of strength 4. Mostly Rue56 and V21 which worked well for me.

I adjust most of the reeds some with the ATG system.

Have you tried it yet? What was your impression?

Regards
Peter

Hi,

My impression was that the tone was excellent with 3.5 V12 reeds. However the pitch level did not correspond with my clarinet and left the overall pitch too high.

However, the response across registers was wonderful and left nothing to be desired in that regard.
