 Forestone Strengths

I have used these reeds almost from their beginning. Most recently I just received their Premium model in Strength 2 1/2 . I ordered this low strength for my open Penzel Mueller which requires an easy playing reed. I have been using 4 1/2 for my Kaspar. Well this 2 1/2 premium works on the Kaspar! Not only does it work but the octave tuning seems more agreeable to my ears. Perhaps Forestone's label of 'G-tuned' isn't a term they made up but something that actually stabilizes the upper octave. Forestone sure doesn't stay still for long. They have gone from 1/4 strengths to med hard labelling and shifted their strengths to match other brands. I think I was using higher strengths in their non premium reeds to help the pitch of the high register. This doesn't seem necessary now with their premium reeds. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
