I took my clarinet in for repairs recently because something weird is happening- spit is heard above the register and it's not something I've been able to get out. Also, going from A to B flat (using the register key) doesn't happen, B flat is just A with a spittier sound. As I said, above the register sounds spitty and not right, I haven't been able to locate the source of the spit and apparently neither could the "repair" men (quotations on repair because they didn't fix the problem...)
Anyway this is a nice clarinet and it's really worrying me! I've tried everything to get the spit out and it's not working. PLEASE HELP!!!

Have you removed the register key and cleaned out the tube? This should be done every few weeks or months as needed. Detritus from the swab traveling over the part of the tube that projects into the bore naturally accumulates there. Usually this results in stuffy out of tune throat tones, but it seems possible that this might be the root of the issue. I'm sure others will have more pertinent suggestions, but this is an easy place to start.

Check the condition of the register key pad, also check that the pad lifts sufficiently high off the register tube.

Also a good idea, but not too high - otherwise you may end up with some intonation changes and clarity issues (undertoning) in the clarion register. On the plus side, having a higher register key will probably help your basic fingering throat Bb sound much clearer. It's a balancing act. More often than not the register key is too high, at least in the instruments I see around here.

Also could be the register tube itself is not secure and/or is leaking where it should be sealed to the clarinet body.
boo to the repair tech!
