I have the LEDUC Edition revised by Delecluse and it is as described by Harry Gee, with the scale up to High G.
And it works fine.

That modification seems to take away just a little bit from the final flurry. I prefer the written version.

I also prefer the original version, as the adding of another high G is anticlimactical to the final note. Harry Gee and I played together in the U of M Symphony many years ago and we were both students at different times of Earl Handlon. Mr. Handlon had me study and perform the Rabaud piece in the quarterly exams and must have also taught it to Mr. Gee, most likely in the original version. Harry Gee had returned from France where he studied with Gaston Hamlin. He sold me a Vandoren 5RV mouthpiece which still is fine.

Someone recently mentioned to me that Harry Gee, Cloyde Williams and Robert Marcellus sat together in the same clarinet section in high school band in MN. Can anyone confirm that? Which high school?
