A friend of mine has a Selmer Signet Horn.
The Clarinet or I should say she sounds quite good.
She told me she has an HS* MP.
Being an Adult learner my knowledge of MP's is limited
That said I thought the MP might be a knock off of some sort.
I've come to find this is not the case
Can anyone tell me anything about these MP's, either the * or the **?
I bought one used off eBay last night for $25....
Monkey see Monkey do
I'm sure when I get this PM I will sound as good as my friend

At one time the HS* was very commonly seen around school bands and orchestras. It's fallen out of fashion in recent times, although a lot of players still use them. I have several in my mouthpiece box. The good ones play well with a #3 Rico. The HS** seems to me to be more resistant. $25 was a fair price.

Some of the mouthpiece craftsmen use the HS* as a blank and do some reworking inside and refacing. I have played some of these that are every bit as good as anything out there. Stock models can be inconsistent, but some are pretty good.
