Wait, this isn't another one of those Bass Player with 4 early period horns, 2 early period alto clarinets, 2 early period clarinets, and 2 early period basoons, is it?
They're popping up like boy-bands these days!
Nice.
Do you have an early period clarinet Alphie, or is their one that's like Zefiro property you can use? Does it take the reeds of today (are you a clarinetist)?

I play 1:st Basset Horn (not alto-clarinet) on the clip. It's my own instrument since 27 years. Ensemble Zefiro has existed since 1989 so it's not exactly a "boy-band."

Alphie:
i hope nothing got lost in translation with my remarks. I sought to find humor in comparing the rarity of not only the instruments used in Zefiro, but its configuration, to the popularity of boy band groups in the popular (as opposed to classical) music space--not to in any way equate your group with them.

It's ok! I just corrected a few facts just for the sake of it! I saw the humorous side of it 😄
By the way, the rest of the movements are also available on YouTube!

Very nice. Obviously a labor of love.
And yes, the internet gives us whole new ways of innocently offending strangers and having to backpedal ("I was only joking!"). Hinting that the other person is perhaps too sensitive only makes it worse- just like at home with family. I'm surprised I haven't made people mad here on BBoard with my irreverent comments (or maybe I have and they've been restrained and/or I've just not noticed, it happens). As an example, I am unable to stop myself from writing, "Too bad those 2 horns in the middle got run over by a truck, but I'm glad they're still playable."
Let me add that even the jokesters among us may well have thin skin on certain topics, especially where we've poured large amounts of energy, devotion, and time into something. That would very often be--- music.

Hello Alphie,
Wonderful playing from you on Bassethorn!
I have had great admiration for this ensemble for a long time, I know Lorenzo very well. And Alfredo Bernardini, what a great musician!
Congratulations on the great performance, one of the best I have heard from Gran Partita.
If anyone wants anymore from this ensemble, here's a little clip (without clarinet, but still fantastic!)
