Getting an "F" grade going to F#

Author: ThatPerfectReed  Date:   2014-01-19 23:06 I need a pointer...maybe some way to conceptialize this in my head to get the hang of it. The problem is that moving from to has never been my forte--getting it to sound seamless and all--but I can do it pretty cleanly, like in Spohr 1 Clar Conc. But worse, ask me to go from to using the classic left hand fingerings that are similar to the aforementioned half tone change, and it just isn't as clean for me. Yeah, I know, I can pretty much use the same finger positions for both of the above half tone changes, even keeping the left pointer down on the high notes, but there's something about those higher notes that seems to bring out my "left pinky imperfection." So I've tried "think round fingers." I've even tried, "think flat fingers." I've trilled, slowly and fast. I've reasoned with my left pinky. He won't listen. Threats to chop him off don't seem to work either, nor do bribes. Any ideas?
