I picked up some R13's, an "A" and a "Bb"

I'm sort of annoyed that both horns leak, as we all know this is common, I have to have it repaired by a Buffet tech which is actually fine with me for now. This work is done at no charge and the tech is excellent. He has a 3 week waiting list!

I'm trying to find out if anyone knows for sure if cork pads will void the warranty. Thanks in advance for the info.

A place in Los Angeles called RDG Woodwinds. It's a small store that pretty much sell clarinets, oboes, and maybe bassoons. Oh, and Buffet saxes. It's really a nice place and they have a pretty big selection of horns, reeds, tools for reed making and 3 really good repairmen. The owner is Nancy, an oboe player. Recently they've started taking on some Selmer horns, but it will be a slow process.

Cork pads are preferred by most pro clarinetist's. I wouldn't worry about the warrenty which usually covers cracking for one year on new clarinets. Any warranty is usually voided when the instrument becomes "used". My experiance has been that if a used clarinet has not cracked already, it probably will not in the future. Forget the "warranty" and go for the corks--you'll like them.
