Hello!
I am taking the San Fransisco bass clarinet audition, and for the Tristan und Isolde excerpt, the instructions are to refer to this book for specific excerpts from Act II Scene III:
Wagner: Orchestral excerpts from opera and concert works
by Hinze
International Music co.
All of the books have been purchased! I would be so grateful if somebody who has the book could list the excerpts for me. I have the entire part, but do not know which passages to prepare.
Thanks!

I you have the complete part the solo material in Scene III begins with the long printed C at the "Massig langsam" (sorry for the omission of umlauts). Every entrance after that is solo. The long notes after "Viel langsamer" are less significant and will probably not be asked. The most popular excerpt for auditions begins with the printed F at "Wieder bewegter" continuing on until just before the change to 6/8. Hope this helps. I've played the opera a few times so if you have further questions feel free to e-mail.
