Hey i have this book. It's Baermann's complete method for Clarinet third division op.63 edited by Gustave Langenus.

Any advice on how i should work through this book?

Thx!

You'll find some excellent advice on use of that material altready throughly integrated into the book "Upbeat Scales and Arpeggios" by Avrahm Galper (published by Mel Bay). The exercises from Baermann's book are regrouped (by key), rephrased, and annotated with tips on fingerings. The result is much like the way Rosario Mazzeo marked up and steered me through that Langenus edition of Baermann. An earlier edition of Galper's book was titled something like "The Upbeat Baermann". The Mel Bay edition is reasonably priced as well.

If you just mean a "general approach," I would say that you will be playing with that notion for the rest of your career.

I began doing a few key signatures a week, going through every variation from front to back in grueling detail. These days I prefer to go through one or two pattern variants in ALL the keys any given day since this more accurately portrays what we play through in real musical situations. That is, music modulates and moves harmonically (as all good jazz students know from the outset). Keeping your ears moving through all the scales gives you a better picture than say a day of three sharps.
