My Dear Friends, Colleagues, and Fellow Clarinetists,
My name is Sam Rothstein, the assistant principal clarinetist and bass clarinetist of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. I am so excited to announce the launch of my new podcast, The Candid Clarinetist. This has been a labor of love for me over the past few months, and I am thrilled to finally share these wonderful conversations with some of the country's leading clarinetists. The guests for my first three episodes are the following:
Episode 1: J Lawrie Bloom, Solo Bass Clarinet, Chicago Symphony Orchestraa
Episode 2: Ralph Skiano, Principal Clarinet, Detroit Symphony Orchestra
Episode 3: Campbell MacDonald, Principal Clarinet, Fort Wayne Philharmonic
All episodes are available for download at https://thecandidclarinetist.podbean.com/ and within 24 hours, on all your favorite streaming platforms such as Spotify, Stitcher, iTunes, and Google Play. There will be a new episode every two weeks!
If you have a chance, please like us on facebook, follow us on twitter @candid_clarinet, and follow us on Instagram @thecandidclarinetist.
Best wishes to all and happy listening,
Sam Rothstein

I really enjoyed the Lawrie Bloom interview. A real stand up guy and world class musician. He's always been pretty easy going so it's a bit hard to know if his career was as easy as it was charmed or he just presents it that way.
Great interview.
Look forward to much much more from you.

I just listened to the Laurie Bloom episode as well. It's great to have another clarinet podcast, and that was an impressive first episode. I wish you much success!
I was reminded of this short video from a few years about Laurie. I've shown it to many a student over the last few years, often to lasting effect:
