Value for insurance?

I recently acquired a 1970s Selmer 9 series Eb clarinet and need to figure out how much it is worth for insurance. I have called Selmer who told me to use orionbluebook.com, but I've looked and it doesn't cover the 9 series. Does anyone know what the equivalent model today would be, or any other resources I might use to work out the insurance value?

The current equivalent is the Selmer 10SII Eb, not the Recital.

But only the Recital Eb is currently listed on Selmer's site: http://www.selmer.fr/

Looks like the standard Selmer Eb has been discontinued (though Howarth probably still have them in stock), it's no longer listed on wwbw.com - only the Recital Eb.

So with that in mind, I'd insure it against the list price of the Selmer Recital Eb (model number 16R), but your insurance company may need a valuation certificate for that which you should be able to get from a woodwind specialist - though they may charge for this as they will probably do an assessment of the clarinet.

Insure the instrument for what it will reasonably cost to replace it --without hunting over the world for an exact (serial number range, condition, intonation, ... foibles). Reduce your grief to ordering a new horn.
