This question came up about 6 months ago (I did search the archives), but there wasn't any definitive answer then. Maybe somebody has found out more since then...
Anybody have any experience with these "Orpheo" (www.orpheusmusicalinstruments.com) hard rubber clarinets? They have a low-C bass that seems to be going for a decent street price, but is it just remarketed Chinese shlock with unrepairable cast lead-alloy keywork, or are they actually decent?
The conclusion 6 months ago seemed to be that the quality was unknown but that the sopranos (at least) were considerably more expensive than Ridenour's, making them a slightly iffy proposition. Anybody have any new opinions?
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Funny you post this. I live in San Antoio where Orpheus is based. And know a flute instructor who's mother part owns the company. The only time I've tried one was at TMEA 2008- I didn't like it but then again I've never used rubber, or plastic instruments and on top of that I've always played Buffet. So I'm unfortunatly not much help-sorry.
