 Lebret Silver Clarinet

My sister bought my son a L. Lebret Silver Clarinet, and I am trying to figure out if it is worth the expense to have it cleaned and have the pads replaced. I cannot find any mention of such an instrument on the internet nor can I find a way to date the clarinet using the serial number. Is anyone familiar with this instrument? Any help will be appreciated.
