Old pomarico mouthpieces were designated by numbers instead of model names (emerald, ruby, sapphire and diamond). Can anyone explain me how these old numbers relate to the actual names? Thanks.

I don't know if there were any variations in facing length or chamber design, but in terms of tip opening the old scheme had '0' as the most closed and '3' as the most open.

All that aside, IMHO nearly all Pomaricos (old or new) have facing curves which are less than optimal and can benefit greatly from a good refacing.

The old Pomarico facing numbers 0 through 3 correspond to:

 Model 0
 Tip: 1.05mm / Facing: 18mm

 Model -1
 Tip: 1.10mm / Facing: 17mm

 Model 1
 Tip: 1.15mm / Facing: 17mm

 Model 2
 Tip: 1.25mm / Facing: 17mm

 Model 3
 Tip: 1.35mm / Facing: 18mm
