Any bass clarinetists using one of these?? If yes, what do you think?
I heard one being played last evening in a theatre pit setting (Selmer 33) and it sounded marvelous, but rather "tight" regarding expression and projection.

I've been using one for about a month. It took about two and a half weeks for me to get used to it. Now it is absolutely glorious.
Articulation is a breeze, it has a very "fat" robust sound.

Made by Walter Grabner. Go to mouthpieces and barrels on the right of this screen.

(who has delightedly played one of his CXBB 'pieces for a few years.... the CXLB will be going some to beat it, but as I'm in Equipment Acquisition Mode, I must contact him again.

I don't play the bass but my teacher does and I never heard him sound as good as on the Grabner CXLB. It has a lot of power but also a terrific ring to the sound when playing very soft passages. I've tried many Bb soprano mouthpieces in the past and while most of the sounds very pleasent they lack focus when playing soft and are therefore very hard to control. Like bahamutofskycon said I also recall my teacher telling me that it takes a bit of time to get used to the CXLB mouthpiece.

I love this mouthpiece. It projects very well and plays beautifully in all the registers. Finding the "sweet spot" was easy for me. I also liked having a trial period and the option of returning the mouthpiece if it wasn't right for me. Certainly worth the investment.

I resent back my LB to be modified to sound darker.
I will tell you that once you get adjusted to it... it sounds marvelous.
It is much easier to control the volume and tone of every note with it compared to others I have used...
