 Mcginnis Tenure

Does anyone know what Robert Mcginnis' tenure was as principal of the New York Philharmonic? Thanks

McGinnis was principal of the NYPO from 1948 - 1960.



Drucker joined the NYPO in 1948 at the age of 19. At that time the section was:

Robert McGinnis - principal
Stanley Drucker - assistant principal and Eb
Napolean Cerminara - 2nd clarinet
Leonard Schaller - bass clarinet

In the summer of 1960, McGinnis took a professorship at Indiana, retired from the NYPO and Drucker became principal.
