...you should have heard the comments made by local pianists about a wonderful performance here last night by Prof Jan Bogdan Drath.
For my part, he inspires me to turn the knob on my metronome to the right and quit rationalizing that one should make time for "the pretty licks."

No link, just overheard at the theater. Most can play a whole lot better than the performer.

Dr. Drath is the former piano professor at my alma mater -- I took beginning piano class with him as a freshman music major. He's a Chopin expert and a wonderful musician, and his daughter is a concert pianist and head of the local Chopin society. Gosh, he must be in his late 80s by now. He could certainly play 20 years ago. If catty comments were made regarding his playing, they were certainly unfair.
