I found some elegant wood reed cases at http://www.em-case.com/ Go to the site, click on "English," then on "music accessories" (next to the bassoon reeds) and then on "Reedcase."

Nice find! Beautiful cases. They seem pretty compact. Only if they could shrink that price a bit...

Yeah looks like a Weiseman reed case with color options. I never think of the reed case as real big deal, as long as it keeps them flat its good enough for me.

They are similar to the Wiseman case but have little bits of elastic material to hold each reed in place.

I own both one of these and a couple of Wiseman ones. Overall I prefer the e-m one as I'm yet to get the reeds to drop out and loose the order of my rotation, it is also quite a bit smaller.

Dawkes in the UK stocks them at about £20.

I was looking at their oboe reed cases the other week, as well as the Wiseman clarinet ones.

Why can't all oboe reed cases have the springs/levers like German ones do?

 Greetings,

Another place to look would be The Davie Cane Company at www.daviecane.com. They have 2 different sizes holding 5 or 20 reeds and in either wood or leather. I received both sizes in wood for Christmas and found them to be very protective and well made.

I got mine from dawkes too. It just fits neatly into my double case as the deapth when on its side is exactly the same as my little metronome, they fill a slot beautifully!

Anyway, nice case, keeps the reeds well. But you have to be really careful when you are taking them in and out, I keep nearly knocking the reed tips on the dividing bars.

I have a case from Davie Cane also, with capacity for 20 reeds. Within 2 months, both hinges have come loose and the clip thingo on the front has become a pain to open/close. I've stopped using it.
