Since the death of david hite, his artist mouthpieces have been unavailable for many months, but today, i noticed that wwbw had the J model in stock. Has anyone tried these and does anyone know what's going to happen to the hite artist line?

If WWBW does indeed have the Hite J in stock it may be new production, and may or may not be up to David Hite's standards. I searched for a J several months ago and no one had them at the time. I suppose WWBW might have discovered a cache when they moved their warehouse, but who knows. I have seen reports that Babbit bought the rights to Hite, which would encourage one to test play any new Hite before buying.

It may be listed on their website, but that certainly doesn't mean that they actually have it in stock.

I'd call if I were you and double check it.

I recently got 2 Hite model Ds (the original creation)...one came in a very old cardboard box, the other in a newer plastic box. They were both quite nice, and I gave one to a colleague for his son who is young intermediate player. While they are not my everyday mouthpiece, they are certainly worth having, collecting, using.
