Hey all. I am a sophomore in college, a Flute major. I have heard good thigns...and bad things about the Quantz Coda flutes offered by Pearl. It's time to step up to a higher end intermediate/lower end pro instrument and I truthfully have heard more good about the Quantz Coda than bad. But I am out for opinions. Here are the facts..they come with a lot of "stuff" on them that is really really cool. BUT they must be priced down for a reason. I have heard that they play really well from people that have earned my respect..but the pricing really sends up a red flag with me. why such a good instrument for so cheap? Call me a skeptic but...

Well when I decided to get a new flute that same madle was on my list. My professor says that the more stuff that is on is just more stuff that can go wrong. I have played this instrument and it has a pretty good sound. My professor thinks that there are much better low end professional instruments out there though. I agree with her. Thats my opinion on that instrument. Just in case you are woundering my professor is Rachel Llynn Waddell from Hillsdale College in Michigan. If you want look her up and ask for more details.

well, personally I like pearl flutes and had seen other flutists whom play pearl some are pleased and some arenīt
some say that the plating is very fragile and tend to wear off quicly but not only pearl other companies have that problem and in some cases worst,I own one with the gold plating I am very careful cleaning it with alcohol very gently and in the 4 years of profesional use dont seem to peel off, very little points maybe in the headjoint but realy I don,t have complaints with it instead I like it very much.
