I have a question about something written on my music. It is next to my high C and attaches the C to the high F. It looks kind of like a staircase. Can someone please explain to me what it is??

I think you are talking about the 'gliss.' The gliss means to play every note to the next note. So, from c to f, you have to play from c chromatically fast (or slow, depending on the rhythmic value of c) to f. Hope this helps.

Just wondering, does that also mean you do every sharp/flat when doing a glissando or just what's in the key signature?
