How do you transpose from (E flat) alto saxophone to (B flat) Clarinet? I need help!!!

All the notes should be played a perfect fifth higher than written. If the notes are rather high already, play a perfect fourth lower. The space between C(DEF)G is a fifth. If you go down C(BA)G, you get the same notes, just not necessarily the same octaves.

If you're playing a second line G on the alto, you want to be playing the C below that (first ledger line) on the clarinet.

It's very easy to be unclear when talking about transposing. Have you music written for an alto saxophone and you want to play it on a clarinet?
In that case, play it a perfect fifth *lower* than it is written. If you see a Middle C in the Alto Music, play it as low F, three ledger lines below the staff.
