I was just wondering if any other players double on recorder. I normally play clarinet (a Buffet B-12) but also really enjoy the soft voice of a recorder. My favorite is the tenor in C.

I play recorder as well as clarinet. I like the Alto in F the best.

I have played flute for 28 years and recorder for 30. I like the Soprano (C) and recently took up the mellow and lovely Alto (F). Making the fingering change (or the transposition) was a fun challenge.

I began about 20 years ago playing recorder at school. I studied soprano firstly.
Now I play oboe but recorder is always in my mind. I love to play all recorders from sopranino to bass. Theyr sound is really marvellous. So when I want to relax I play recorders even if in my band I usually play oboe, mostly because music for recorders is only a few (the only one I know is "the lonely shepperd").
Any way if I have to choose one recorder that I like best is surely Alto. And that's not so difficoult to transpose parts!!

Notes...do u know easy way and efectiv method to learn notes,iam playing Recorder for 6 monthes,hearing sheets music and then trying to repeate it and play with recorder .until now I gain agood progress but i dont know any thing about notes ,Do u have any suggestion,in any thing to improve my abelity.I apperciate any help..thank you very much

Recorders are toys and sound like crap. Get a real instrument.

Recorders are NOT toys. A good one can cost in the thousands. Perhaps you're thinking of the cheap plastic "recorders" that really are not recorders but toys.
