Is there such thing as people hearing colours when they hear certain notes being played? Or being able to taste coke when they hear another note being played?

yes..its also considered a disorder...some people literally see color when the hear things or see things...in some more rare cases colors match up with numbers and letters. the tasting sensation is caused more by memory...for instance i once listened to a techno song while reading a childrens book...now when i hear the song i can see the book and some time remember the story

Some people say that having perfect pitch is being able to hear pitches as one sees colors. Think about trying to describe what "red" is to somebody without reference to itself. How can you describe the redness of something without saying, well, that it's just red? I suppose you could reference red's position on the spectrum and talk about what wavelength constitutes "red", but all that is a physical description of electromagnetic phenomena and does not express the actual perception of red in your mind.

Thus it is for people with perfect pitch. You can't really describe what an A sounds like. You can sing it, but you can't really describe what it is about that frequency that gives it its unique "A-ness".

Ambrosia be nice,in case you weren't aware Torus wears his/her feelings on their shoulders.Torus is easily offended and suffers from a disorder called "Haterism".If you don't believe it just wait.In no time Torus will be on a insulting spree as soon as she/he reads this thread. You see Torus enjoys coming across to people she/he cannot see as highly intelligent by his/her speech. What Torus fails to see is that any person can sat down read some passages from a book and then write them down so that others can read them so that it appears that they are super intelligent. Its called "insecurity" an indication of a disturbed childhood and a strong desire to be accepted by society. We are waiting for you Torus to read this and reveal your true COLOURS.By the way Torus if you were a real muscician you wouldn't be spending all your time writing on these forums. You'd be in your room practicing your tuba.......or whatever you blow on.

Yeah, good point. And if "Koby Tek" was a good musician, he wouldn't write a post like that, and actually give some good advice. Not write a whole post insulting another person. It's too bad there's no way to block a person from writing on this forum. Shut up, stop downing on other people, and give musical advice. It's a MUSIC FORUM!

So let me get this straight... you're making fun of me for reading books?

And if you've gone back and read some of my previous posts and think they're taken directly from a book, then I'll take that as a compliment!

yes there have been multiple studies done on professional musicians who claim these things and it was proven that a note can stimulate different parts of the brain causing a certain colour or taste to be experienced
