i my gosh. i just got a rovner dark ligature i have to tell you. i love the way those things work. they look so professional, if that is possible. i love the way the ligature makes me sound. i wish i had gotten one a long time ago. i got it because it was on this list of things for a good clarinetist. the list includes buffet r13, vandoren M13 mouthpiece, klose method for clarinet, and v12 reeds. i am working my way up the the r13 though.

I have a Vandoren B.45 mouthpeice and I love its soun better than any other. I have a R.13 and It is the BEST!
I have also talked with professional clarinetist that say the V12 reeds are just like the traditional reeds!, I prefer the Gonzalez brand, they have these sizes to get more precise sounds: 1 , 1 1/4 , 1 1/2 , 1 3/4 , 2 1/4 , 2 1/2 , 2 3/4 , 3 1/4 , 3 1/2 , 3 3/4 , 4 , etc.
and Ill try the method book. also I prefer to have about 2,3 different mouthpeices to get the right sound! I also prefer the handcarved wood mouthpeices.!
