I was wondering how to achieve the ability to play more than one note on the flute. I am an obsessive floutist that also transposes music, plays piccolo and is learning drums. If you tell me how, I just might be able to be able to do it!!

The undisputed master of flute mutiphonics is a man named Robert Dick.
Get his book The Other Flute,also check out his many
recordings.
Multiphonics are very possible on flute!!

I think it sounds very interesting, very interesting indeed. I too wonder about such things playing flute, being an avid foutist. The closest thing to multiphonics i can pull off is when i play piccolo and don't support my tone on the high notes, so they come out on two octaves...
A recent project of mine is trying to get my flute to "slide"- creating a sound similar to the trombone slide. i accomplish this by rolling the flute enough to make the note either sharp or flat, enough so to go to the next note (chromatically) and not notice a chang ein tone. This involves turning the flute very quickly and of course- knowing chromatics. I don't have it down yet, but I'm getting there. Should be rather interesting.
i think I'm gonna check out that book.
