 left it on the field....

hey all you out there. we've been going back and forth insulting one another, exchanging harsh words. i too am guilty of such things. i'm not going to apologize however. all i'm saying is it shouldn't matter so much anymore. like my band director (josh kaufman) always says, it doesn't matter what placement you recieve, it's how you felt when you walked off the field. to be honest, after our finals performance, as soon as i got the "left face" my face was streaked with tears. tears of joy, not of disapointment. i remember standing in our brass circle right before we broke with the biggest smile on my face thinking "we've got this" as i counted my steps 1..2..3..4..5..6..7..8... FLANK 2...3.. and so on......... i was ecstatic. we all walked off that field and most of us felt amazing about it. few peope in my band can honestly say they didn't want to cry tears of joy while we were sitting in the endzone. we were all happy, and i think most of us remember our first day at band camp. i remember standing at full retreat, and i knew, as soon as the announcer opened his announcment of second place, i knew it was us. my heart dropped when he said "sheridan high school ramland marching band" i remember when like children pueblo county broke out in celebration. they were sore winners. and more than anything i wanted to destroy them, when they broke into our ranks and started shaking our hands, my jaw was locked and i was holding back all my anger and disapointment. i'm sure i'm not alone in these emotions. we all were upset. but after that announcement, once we got back to the bus where a gracious band would then release their emotions, we were all upset. i remember comforting our freshmen tuba, lovingly nick-named skreech, i remember him saying he should have done better for us. i remember even before that walking off, hugging gabe, and just crying telling him "you have to do it for us next year gabe, you just have to..." one of the more painful moments was seeing our horn sargent crying feeling as if he'd let us down. but truly the most painful was watching our drumline, just beating away all their anger, holding it back. section leader, drum sargent, watching him end it with a GAK! then breaking down. it was a very painful night. we were all seething with emotions. we all wanted to kill pueblo, more than them the judges and their director. we were staying in the same hotel. everywhere our band looked there was a reminder of our loss. that night was restless. there were tons of problems. after that, something i'll remember always is unpacking, walking into our band room and seeing all the decorations. yet another painful reminder of our failure. i remember asking myself "will it ever end?"....since. i've thought about it. i left it on the field in grand junction. i left it on the bus. what's done is done, guys. all you can do now is keep striving. even now the memories seem to jab me through the heart, and bring tears to my eyes.i hope all the seniors out there and those who care for the seniors feel the same. we have ONE MORE performance, sheridan. one more, and then the show will be gone forever... i want to leave the show on the best note we possibly can. i'm so reluctant to let this season go. but i know we must. i want it to be insane! i want it to be amazing. i want everyone there. please, please don't blow off our last show together. i love you all. so very much. i want to let the world know WE ARE SHERIDAN HIGH SCHOOL'S RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAMLAND MARCHING BAND. if not for me, do it for yourself.

Here are some harsh words: find the "Enter" key. This is about as far into your post as I got.

Arguing with you is sorta like swatting a fly with a tank.
