I made a post a few days about buying professional oboe reeds. Thanks for all your help to those who responded. I think I am going to go with www.kge-reeds.com. But I have some more questions. On the professional oboe reed, they have some specifications that I don't know about. One is
"U-scrape" and "W-scrape". I have no idea what this is. Which would you suggest? Also you get ones with wires and without. I currently have a non-wire reed, but what does the wire do? Would you suggest it? And finally, should I get a medium reed, which I play on now, or medium-hard? I know that with clarinets and saxes it's good to advance to harder reeds, but it the same for the oboe?
Thanks.
