whoops! so my piccolo is never in tune- I practally have to pull off the headjoint to get it in tune. Please Help!!

ALL piccolos are very hard to play in tune. You'll have to learn what notes are flat and what notes are sharp on your piccolo, and adjust while you are playing. This is especially horrible in beginner models. But if your piccolo is generally sharp (which is what it sounds like), then the problem may be how you are supporting the sound. Be careful not to overblow. After coming from the flute, you may feel like the piccolo takes more air, but the key is to relax, and direct the air through a smaller opening in your lips.

if it is metal.. you are going to have an even harder time getting it in tune... Wood piccolos and all plastic piccolos are better.. much better than metal. you may want to practice playing notes with a tuner and always tighten up and use faster air... that usually helps with intonation.. I hope this helps
