If I were to go into the oboe reed business...

1. How much do people think is a fair price on good quality consistent gouged-only cane is? gouged-shaped? a good, solid, 440, responsive, round-sounding reed?
2. How much do people think is a fair "introductory reed price" is?
3. What "introductory offers" would people suggest in order for me to get people to try out my cane? 10 gouged/shaped pieces for $10 or so?

I figure it takes me a total of $4.00 base cost including the staple. It probably takes me a good 20 minutes to make one reed, in which 4 out of 5 reeds would be acceptable to send out.

I put too much effort and energy into experimenting with my own reeds, 8 varieties of cane, 3 gouging machines, and five shaper tips for me to use them alone. I might as well share my good fortune and results as a side job!
