Having tried unsuccessfully for some 30 years to become rich and famous by playing clarinets and saxes, I've now begun re-learning oboe (which I played for just one year way back in middle school, was actually making pretty decent reeds when I gave it up to concentrate on bass clarinet) --- and I'm wondering, is it possible to become Rich and/or Famous by performing on oboe? --- and if so, what is the path to greatness?
Just a simple question (or maybe two questions), thought I'd ask you actual oboists first......
