Hello all,
My husband and I are preparing to return to Australia after almost two years here in Illinois (55 days - not counting at all!) This is just a post to say thank you to all of you for your support.
Since I have been here I have not only started making my own reeds but I have become a self-sufficient reed maker. Of course I have much more to keep learning, but that's half the fun, isn't it? I have received so much good advice on here which has helped me in my journey (even if it is advice I didn't ask for myself - these posts are such a source of reference). Making my own reeds has improved my playing so much that upon receiving and hearing a recording of an orchestral recital I played in recently, I shocked myself! For a doubler who has only been playing oboe 6 years, I am pleased with my progress, and even more pleased to have found a place of ongoing and wide-ranging support.
So, thanks to all! And I will soon be greeting you all from Down Under once again!
Rachel
