Oboe/Cor Anglais Duets

Author: obtuse  Date:   2003-11-16 02:33 I have an oboe player friend who loves to play our school's english horn, but there aren't many situations where he gets to play it a lot. Mostly our band director just lets him double alto sax and french horn parts that need to be covered when he has a lot of rests on his oboe part. Anyway, he has a sister who also plays oboe (two in one house.. poor parents) and I thought it would be a nice gift to get them a duet or two that they could play together. Since I'm not really all that familiar with double reed repertoire, could anyone make some suggestions? I'm not really sure if there's a lot of pieces to choose from, but if you could suggest some that you particularly like, that would be really helpful. Thanks a lot .st
